About GUST
Head of School's Welcome

We are an Independent Special School for children aged 6 - 17 with a variety of additional needs that may otherwise not be met within a mainstream setting. We provide both Primary and Secondary education on our campus within two separate purpose-made facilities.
At GUST, we provide a rich and balanced curriculum that is embedded consistently throughout the school, building from the foundations of our youngest Primary pupils up to our Year 12 pupils who are preparing for adulthood. As a whole school, we follow a thematic approach to learning. Pupil voice is highly regarded as pupils are encouraged to discuss and choose our topics and direction for their learning. Our highly skilled staff then interweave the direction of the pupils with National Curriculum Outcomes, ensuring the curriculum is coherently planned and sequenced towards developing knowledge and skills to support future learning and employment.
We place great emphasis on the development of exceptional behaviour and attitude, including a consistently high level of respect for others and a commitment to their education.
