Woodhorn Museum

As part of our local history topic we decided to visit the Woodhorn Museum in Ashington to learn about our mining history. We took a tour of the mineshaft and wheelhouse and were amazed by how deep in the ground the miners used to work. The students were shocked to find out that by their age they would be expected to be working down the mines already.
