Autumn has arrived, and with it, our much-anticipated return to Forest School! This week, we went on a conker hunt—and what a successful expedition it was! Conkers were everywhere, and although we gathered an impressive collection, we made sure to leave plenty behind for the wildlife and other children to enjoy.
As we explored, we spotted the early signs of the season: leaves turning brilliant shades of gold and red, gently falling from the trees. It was a wonderful opportunity to connect with nature and witness autumn's beauty firsthand.
Back at school, our conker collection became the centerpiece of our learning. We used them for all sorts of activities—counting, estimating, weighing, comparing, and even some friendly competition! It was amazing to see how these simple treasures from nature could spark so much curiosity and creativity.
Next week, the conkers return with us to Forest School, where we’ll be hosting conker tournaments and enjoying even more outdoor fun and games. We can’t wait to see what autumn brings next!
