Hindu Temple Newcastle

Today we had a wonderful opportunity to visit the Hindu Temple in Newcastle, where we learned all about Hinduism and what happens when people go to worship at the temple.

As we arrived, we discovered that visiting a temple is a special and peaceful experience. We learned about the importance of showing respect by taking off our shoes before entering and behaving quietly inside.

During our visit, we learned about some of the Hindu gods and their different roles and meanings. We saw beautiful statues of the gods and found out that they help Hindus remember the qualities and values that are important in their faith.

One of the highlights of our visit was ringing the temple bell before entering the worship area. We learned that the sound of the bell helps people focus their minds and prepare for prayer.

We also explored some Hindu beliefs, including the importance of kindness, respect, caring for others, and doing good deeds. It was fascinating to learn how these beliefs guide the daily lives of many Hindu people.

At the end of our visit, we received a blessing from the temple, which made us feel very welcome. We were grateful for the warm hospitality shown by everyone at the temple and enjoyed asking questions to learn even more about Hinduism.

Our visit helped us understand and appreciate a different religion and culture. It was a memorable experience that brought our RE learning to life, and we would like to thank everyone at the temple for making us feel so welcome.
