GUST Independent School was delighted to welcome Peter Hunter, Careers Hub Facilitator, to officially open the school's Careers Hub. Peter met with Headteacher Nigel Grant, who has been developing the school's careers offer, The visit provided an opportunity to showcase the school's commitment to preparing learners for their future pathways through high-quality careers education, information, advice, and guidance.
During the visit, discussions focused on the work being undertaken in school the support Compass+ has given to strengthen the school's careers programme and ensure alignment with the Gatsby Benchmarks. The Careers Hub will provide learners with greater access to careers information with specialist guidance provided by Career Wave and Northumberland County Council, employer encounters, work experience opportunities, further education pathways, and vocational training options.
The school continues to utilise Compass+ to monitor, evaluate, and develop its careers provision, enabling learners to make informed decisions about their future education, employment, and training opportunities. This work forms an important part of the school's commitment to raising aspirations, improving employability skills, and supporting positive destinations for all learners.
