Our learners recently welcomed the local fire service for a visit about staying safe around fireworks. The firefighters shared statistics about firework-related incidents and explained how their team helps keep our local community safe during the Bonfire Night period. Learners also explored how the misuse of fireworks can affect people in their neighbourhood and why hoax calls are taken so seriously. The firefighters explained that a false call can take a crew away from a real emergency, when someone might need their help. The visit gave learners a chance to see how the choices they make around fireworks can help keep themselves and others safe. Thank you to our local fire service for taking the time to speak with us and share their experiences.
