Today our learners had the incredible opportunity to attend STEMfest 2025, a vibrant celebration of science, technology, engineering and mathematics. The exhibition hall buzzed with excitement, filled with fascinating displays, hands-on workshops and inspiring demonstrations from scientists, engineers and innovators from across the country.
One of the highlights of the day was meeting the robotic dog — an astonishing piece of technology that was almost life-like! It could run, respond to commands and even leap back onto its feet when knocked over. Watching it move was both fascinating and a little uncanny!
Another firm favourite was the LEGO car racing challenge. Pupils worked tirelessly to improve their designs, tweaking and testing to see which model could go the fastest. There was plenty of friendly competition between schools as everyone tried to beat the record — and plenty of scientific thinking as learners experimented with aerodynamics, weight and wheel alignment.
The visit was a fantastic opportunity for pupils to see how their classroom learning connects to real-world innovation. They came away inspired, curious, and eager to explore the endless possibilities that STEM has to offer.
